Administering one of South Africa's largest Group Schemes

The insdi platform was utilised to facilitate the migration and administration of a very large group scheme.

Our client, a single owner brokerage, secured a very large group scheme by utilising insdi to digitise the migration, onboarding and claim registration process of each individual in the scheme.

Obtaining the consent of group members is a notoriously difficult task when migrating a group scheme to a different insurer. This was compounded by the franchise structure of the policyholder, as multiple interested parties existed on multiple levels and individual members only had access to a mobile phone.

In a short space of time insdi was able to roll out a solution that allowed over 60 franchise offices to manage their staff’s migration and subsequent new member onboarding and claim registration. Due to the self-service nature of the insdi platform, the policyholder was able to significantly reduce their administration and paperwork overheads, allowing our client to not only offer the policyholder better insurance terms but also reduce their administrative burden in managing the large group scheme.

Insdi has also facilitated the subsequent annual renewal, ensuring members provide acceptance of changing policy terms and note all new claims registration and handling guidelines.

On this single scheme over 25,000 members have used the platform and over 60,000 submissions have been received and processed via insdi.

Claims process Digitalisation leads to delighted clients

Our client sought to digitise their claims forms to enhance the client experience during the registering of a claim.

Within a month we were up and running.

Before speaking to insdi, our client had been attempting for months to digitise their forms to offer clients a better and more convienent online experience.

Building in house was not only very expensive and time consuming, but carried a high degree of risk and long term maintenance overheads. The client tested internationally recognised platforms but found that not only were they challenging to configure, the data storage was international with no guarantee of where policy information would be stored.

insdi was asked to propose a solution and within a month we were live with a robust digital claims registration process with all data always remaining in the client's jurisdication.

End users (our client's clients) have provided an average rating of 4.6 / 5 after using the system (even more impressive considering this is during a claim afterall!)

Rating Engines for contactless financial product sales

insdi provided a rules and rating engine for a product provider to sell insurance via a chatbot. Our unique platform allows for the creation of rating and rules APIs to integrate with any system to provide decision making and pricing calculations in real time.

Support claim assessors using ChatGPT

We piloted a chatbot to assist claims assessors in handling commercial claims based on their policy wordings. Staff select the relevant product wording and ask natural language questions to support them in registering and administering a claim. The pilot was a success and we are implementing a permanent solution.

Risk Surveys in the time of POPI

Our client desired to remove client information from emails to third parties and handle risk surveys via our platform.

The protection of Personal Information is paramount, particularly in the financial and insurance industry. Our client sought to digitise the outsourcing of their risk survey process while limiting the amount of client information that was shared.
Insurers may need to survey large or high risk premises to ensure all risk mitigation protocols are in place and the risk is insurable.
Our client, using the insdi platform, developed a digital risk survey template that surveyors could use to complete risk surveys on premises. The surveys were prepopulated with the relevant risk information and shared with the surveyor who would follow the instructions, upload comments and supporting images and provide a risk overview.

The insdi solution was particularly elegant as:

  • Only the necessary information was shared with the surveyor
  • No personal information was transmitted via email
  • All parties could track the status of each survey and the duration from request to completion
  • A pdf report was immediately available on completion for underwriters to review.

This solution reduced the cost of each survey, allowing more risks to be scrutinized and ultimately allowing the underwriting team to have a better understanding of their risk pool and reduce claim costs.

Our client desired to digitise the onboarding process to their group schemes. Good-bye fillable pdfs and welcome to mobile-friendly customer engagement.

Fillable pdfs and emails were frustrating their potential clients and were not practical for staff members on the move.

insdi implemented a solution that allowed for the unique requirements:

  • Members would agree to a premium that was dynamic and determined at submission based on the scheme type and additional dependents added.
  • The premium base had to allow for custom rating per client and needed to be configured client side
  • Sensitive information meant policyholders needed to manage the staff submissions but not have access to actual data being submitted.
  • Utilisation of One Time Pins(OTPs) and digital signatures to ensure policy acceptance is binding
  • Self-service means our client can expand the platform for new policyholders without any support required from insdi

To date we have processed hundreds of submissions with an average rating of 4.85/5 as rated by their end users. Our client continues to configure customised onboarding capabilities to their policyholders without any day-to-day assistance from insdi.
